​​This session will explore best practices and time-tested strategies for abstracting medical records accurately and efficiently. It will also introduce how facilities have implemented AI for CathPCI abstractions, detailing lessons learned, advantages/disadvantages, and how AI is easing data abstraction burden to allow sites to focus more on quality​.

Learning Objectives:

  • Discuss the trials and tribulations of implementing AI technology into data abstraction and quality improvement.
  • Explore the registry abstractor’s role in supporting and driving quality (with the assistance of AI)​.
  • Identify one time-saving technique that will improve data abstraction from the medical record and/or coding in the data collection tool.
