After graduating with from the University of Virginia, Ms. St. Clair began her career as a cardiology nurse working on the PCCU and CCU. Shortly thereafter, she served as a Department of Defense contractor for TRICARE Management Activity to support clinical quality and patient safety programs. After obtaining a master’s degree in Health Systems Management from George Mason University she transitioned to a Cardiology Quality Consultant position and applied her skills to maintain CMS and Joint Commission certifications, facilitate physician peer review groups, collect & analyze hospital performance measures, and implement multiple performance improvement initiatives at Inova Health System. During her tenure at Inova, she successfully facilitated the achievement of AACN Beacon awards for the cardiology ICUs and was designated as the Heart Failure Coordinator to implement a program that achieved Joint Commission Disease specific certification. She has shared her wealth of knowledge and experience by mentoring graduate students and nurses visiting from China as well as lectured in China to discuss clinical quality, patient safety and outcomes. She joined the American College of Cardiology in June 2014 and provided customer support to participating sites of various NCDR Registries and now serves as the Clinical Product Manager for ACC's Heart Failure Accreditation and Transcathter Valve Certification tools.
