Dr. Omair Yousuf is a board certified interventional cardiac electrophysiologist and cardiologist. He completed medical school at University of Missouri, Kansas City and his internal medicine residency, cardiology fellowship, and cardiac electrophysiology fellowship at Johns Hopkins Hospital. He was inducted into the prestigious Alpha Omega Alpha medical honor society and Gold humanism honor society.
He is a Castle Connolly Top Doctor. He practices at Carient Heart and Vascular, Inova Heart and Vascular Insitute, and University of Virigina Health Systems in Northern Virginia. Prior to Northern Virginia, he was at The Mid America Heart Institute in Kansas City, Missouri. He is an Assistant Professor of Medicine at University of Missouri, Kansas City. He has previously spent time as a clinical research scholar at the National Institutes of Health and at the FDA.
Dr. Yousuf specializes in management of all heart rhythm disorders and has expertise in performing complex catheter ablations for atrial and ventricular arrhythmias. Dr. Yousuf is a nationally recognized leader in cardiac electrophysiology serving on several national committees for American College of Cardiology and Heart Rhythm Society. He has delivered many talks at national and local meetings. He has authored numerous papers, in leading cardiovascular journals. He actively participates in research studies and has been co-investigator in several leading clinical trials.
