University of Michigan
Ludington, Michigan, United States
Sheryl Fielding BSN, RN is the Clinical Quality Improvement Lead for the Michigan Structural Heart Consortium (MISHC) and has extensive experience at the University of Michigan in the OR and cath lab. In her role at MISHC, Sheryl ensures the 30 structural heart hospitals across the State of Michigan are meeting CMS and TVT requirements through chart reviews and site visits. Sheryl helps develop MISHC reports and relevant tools for participating hospitals to use for quality improvement.
MISHC’s mission is to improve the quality of care and outcomes for cardiovascular patients across the state, focus on safety and quality, appropriateness, and high value care. This mission is accomplished by fostering collaboration through trust, providing education, delivering actionable reports, and mentoring through annual physician, coordinator, and collaborative meetings. During these meetings local and national speakers educate and present on relevant procedural issues in the TAVR and mitral transcatheter space. The MISHC structural heart coordinator group focuses on developing best practices, mentoring, and educational presentations. MISHC data abstractors meet regularly to discuss website and definition challenges and quality projects.
