Dr. Andrew Wilson is a PGY-6 Cardiology Fellow at Brooke Army Medical Center in San Antonio, Texas. Originally from Southern California, he attended medical school at Western University of Health Sciences in Pomona, CA, under a Health Professions Scholarship from the United States Army. After earning his Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine, he was promoted to Captain and stationed at Fort Sam Houston in San Antonio, Texas, where he completed his Internal Medicine residency. He was then selected for Cardiology fellowship at the same institution.
Throughout his career, Dr. Wilson has consistently demonstrated a commitment to excellence in patient care, research, and medical education. He holds the academic position of Assistant Professor of Medicine at the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences, serving as a clerkship preceptor for medical students. His passion for research is evident through his numerous national presentations and published articles in peer-reviewed journals. His primary focus lies in studying the impact of cardiovascular disease on the active-duty military population. Recognized for his leadership and academic accomplishments, he has received several awards, notably the Army Achievement and Commendation Medals.
Apart from his clinical duties, he is happily married to his wife, who is a pediatrician. Together, they enjoy engaging in medical outreach events through the Christian Medical Dental Association, traveling to new destinations, and cooking novel recipes.
