Suzanne V. Arnold, MD, MHA , is a clinical scholar and noninvasive cardiologist at Saint Luke’s Mid America Heart Institute and Professor of Medicine at University of Missouri-Kansas City. Her work involves a broad range of research questions within the field of cardiovascular outcomes, with a focus on the health status of patients with valvular heart disease, chronic coronary disease, and diabetes. Dr. Arnold graduated from The Ohio State University with undergraduate degrees in molecular genetics, mathematics, and economics followed by a joint degree in medicine (MD) with a specialization in aging and a Masters of Health Administration (MHA). After completing internal medicine and cardiology training at Washington University in St. Louis, she completed a research fellowship in cardiovascular outcomes funded by the American Heart Association. Using data from clinical trials, observational analyses of trial data, and national registries, she has worked to better understand the effect of transcatheter valve procedures on the symptoms, function, and quality of life of patients, receiving funding from the NIH/NHBLI and US FDA. She has coauthored ~200 primary research manuscripts, including >60 that used the Kansas City Cardiomyopathy Questionnaire (KCCQ).
